It is the westernmost Polish valley in the Tatra Mountains. From the entrance (Siwa Polana) to about halfway through the valley (Polana Huciska), there is an asphalt road, which then turns into a gravel road.
You can reach the shelter on foot - 7.5 km, about 2 hours, ↓ 1:30 h. Cycling is also allowed in the valley, and the nature of the road is perfect for that. There is a rental place at the entrance to the valley. A wheel train also runs, which goes to Huciska. You can also take a carriage (or a sleigh ride in winter - amazing!) that can reach all the way to Polana Chochołowska.
At the beginning of the valley, there are large meadow areas, which made it the largest shepherding center. You can stop at shepherd huts and eat oscypek cheese or try żentyca. In spring, the meadows at the end of the valley are covered with fields of crocuses. It is a unique phenomenon, the views are incredible. You simply have to see it!
Chochołowska is, of course, a starting point for higher parts of the Tatras. The Western Tatras are our favorite mountain place, so we are happy to help with trail selection. :)
To get to Chochołowska from us (about 6 km), you can go by bus, car, or directly by bike.
