Built according to the design of Karol Stryjeński (architect, artist, lover of the Tatra Mountains and highlander culture), officially opened on March 22, 1925. It is the largest ski jumping hill in Poland.
Its construction point is situated at the 120th meter. Since 1980 (with breaks in the years 1981-1989, 1991-1995, 1997, 2001), the World Cup competitions, the most important ski jumping circuit, have been held on Wielka Krokiew.
The hill is equipped with artificial ice, allowing the Wielka Krokiew competitions to take place also in the summer season. A great attraction, especially for children, is the ride on the chairlift to the very top of Wielka Krokiew.
A look from above the inrun allows us to imagine what the competitors sitting on the start bar feel before their jump. At the upper station of the lift, there is a pleasant, panoramic café.
