The Museum - Author's Gallery of Władysław Hasior has existed since 1985 and is a branch of the Tatra Museum in Zakopane.
The gallery's permanent exhibition consists of about 150 works by the artist, including: banners, spatial compositions, sculptures, assemblages, collages, "objects of life", "eschatological landscapes", "imaginative bust portraits".
The collection contains works from the entire creative period of the artist. The gallery building, in the interwar period, was a resting place for patients of the anti-tuberculosis sanatorium. Hasior adapted it by placing his gallery, apartment, and studio inside. There was also a "county common room," which was a place for the artist's organized meetings and discussions with the public. The artist passed away in 1999, bequeathing all his works to the Tatra Museum. The interior of the gallery, created gradually by the artist, is a "unique installation of his own exhibits, creating a magical space saturated with music, lights, and unreal reflections of huge mirrors."
A must-visit for art lovers! :)
