It was created to commemorate the pilgrimage that John Paul II made in 1997, traveling in an open papamobile through unknown villages on the Zakopane-Ludźmierz route.
The trail is marked with a yellow color and commemorative stones. It is worth cycling the entire historical and beautifully scenic route.
The trip is easy and about 40 km from our guesthouse, along the entire Papal Road, with access to Nowy Targ, from where we plan to return by train to Zakopane. The route starts with a steep and demanding climb to Gubałówka through Salamandra (you can take the cable funicular), then continues along the Gubałówka promenade, Ząb, Bańska Niżnia, Maruszyna to Ludźmierz - the oldest village and the oldest parish in Podhale. At the reception, we will gladly mark the exact route on the map. :)
This trail is also worth walking. We recommend using the Papal Road as a walking and scenic option to reach the center of Zakopane. The walk takes about 1.5 hours. From the center, you can return directly to the guesthouse by buses or taxi.
